The Quillworts

From arctic lakes to tropical forests, quillworts (the ~200 species of Isoetes) grow all over the world, though few people have the keen eye to see them. Once touted as one of the most understudied plant groups, quillworts have received lots of new attention, and there is now ongoing research to understand the evolution, genomics, and phyiosology of these enigmatic plants. But there is still so much we don't know! Here I try to provide material to help you identify and learn about Isoetes.
